02. Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR) – World Vision International

DynaMind worked with World Vision International to develop an engaging and interactive eLearning experience on Farmer Managed Natural Regeneration (FMNR). FMNR is a simple, low-cost method of restoring degraded lands by encouraging the regrowth of trees and shrubs from existing root systems. This practice helps communities restore their environment, increase biodiversity, and improve agricultural productivity – making it a vital tool for resilience and sustainable land management.

Target audience: The FMNR eLearning modules were designed for practitioners, community leaders, development workers, and environmental advocates who want to learn how to apply FMNR principles and techniques in their work. The modules target a diverse global audience interested in scaling up land restoration efforts.

Our approach: We developed 6 self-paced modules (Articulate Rise) filled with interactive elements (Articulate Storyline), animated videos (Vyond), and rich graphic support (Vyond/Adobe Illustrator) to bring the FMNR concept to life. The modules focus on practical skills, with learners engaging in real-world scenarios and problem-solving activities. The use of animated videos simplified complex ideas, while quizzes, simulations, and knowledge checks helped reinforce learning and encourage active participation.

Our approach was highly learner-centric, designed to ensure that users could easily grasp the principles of FMNR, apply them in diverse contexts, and experience the transformative potential of this practice through an immersive digital experience.

The course was translated into French and Spanish.
